Therapy changed 3 core things about how I lead:
*1. I stopped reacting, started responding*
Before therapy I took feedback and mistakes as personal attacks. I’d get defensive or angry.
After therapy I learned to pause. Now when there’s a problem I ask “what’s the data, what’s the cause” instead of “who’s to blame.” My team brings me problems earlier because they don’t fear me.
*2. I learned to delegate and trust*
I used to micromanage because I didn’t trust things would be done “right.” Therapy showed me that was about my own anxiety and need for control.
Now I set clear expectations, give ownership, and check in on results not process. This freed up my time to work _on_ the company instead of _in_ it.
*3. I communicate with boundaries and clarity*
I used to send late night messages, change priorities randomly, and expect people to read my mind.
Therapy taught me to name what I need directly and respect other people’s time.
Now: clear goals, documented decisions, work hours respected. Team morale and productivity went up.
*Result:*
Less burnout for me. Less turnover for the company. Better decisions because I’m not leading from stress.
Therapy didn’t make me a softer leader. It made me a clearer one.
